Cardamom,
the “Queen of Spices” is a native of the moist, evergreen forests
of the Western Ghats of Southern India Due to its lingering sparkle and
after taste, today, Indian CARDAMOM is an essential ingredient in Arabian
Gahwa, Pastries in Scandinavia, curries in Japan, processed meat in much
of Europe, baked food in Americas and a variety of Indian dishes. Many indigenous
systems of medicines attribute
a variety of therapeutic and neutraceutical
values to CARDAMOM as an excellent aperitif, digestive, stimulant, antidote,
body coolant, diuretic, carminative, liver detoxifier, anti depressant
and a natural mouth freshener. Many cultures consider it an aphrodisiac
and an excellent remedy for impotency.
No wonder the 'English East India Company' sought exclusive rights over
Indian Cardamom Trade.
